Substance Use/Abuse and HIV Outreach Resources
We've gathered a number of valuable resources if you're in need of assistance. There are a number of great sites presented on both maps, and we're always interested in adding to what is there.
Please look over both these maps. Are there resources you would like us to add on? Go to our general contact/feedback form and send us an email, and we will be happy to add them on.

Patrick Ford in Atlanta is a friend of mine. I have been active in efforts to help him that have been supported by HIV and housing advocates in NYC, Can Francisco, Washington, DC and elsewhere. Ask any person living with HIV who has limited income what their biggest fear is. They will tell you they fear being homeless! Housing is Prevention! Housing is Care!! Housing Saves Lives!!!

This is yet anther reason for HIV+ patients to INSIST that their primary care physician not only monitor and treat their HIV infection but also fully assess and address all health issues that might affect a person of their age and with their family history. Don’t let a doctor be so focused on your HIV that he/she ignores the balance of your health needs.

Thanks Melina for sharing such an important part of your life! You are a true fighter and have such strength in your spirit! We do by our very nature tend to react to traumatic moments, often times not the way we wanted to. Hopefully, we find solutions and move forward which makes us a wiser person indeed! It sounds like you have done just that=)
